hey everybody. Cameron Hemphill, here your host for medical millionaire. Hey, first off, thanks so much for taking the time to tune into our podcast. Our goal is to give incredible value and insight into the medical spell market. So if you’re an injector, you’re in the med spa space, the esthetic space, surgical, non surgical, dermatology space. This podcast is for you. Every single episode that we create is for you. And I know that there’s a way that you can find incredible value and insight into moving the needle and making your practice more profitable, more productive, more proficient, also outside of the office, in your personal life as well. So my team here at growth 99 we have consulted med spa owners all over the country for years, and we see ones that are just crushing it. They’re doing very well. They’re expanding. Profits are up. Top line revenue is up. Bottom line revenue is up. Productivity is good, culture is good, sales are good. And then we see others that have issues, and they’re trying to figure it out. They’re trying to fill the gaps, they’re trying to cross the chasm, right? They’re trying to figure out how they can improve their practice. So wherever you’re at, if you’re thinking about opening up a med spa, if you have a med spa, if you want to go to multi locations, you want to go to the enterprise specific portions of your business, this is for you. So as we consult and talk with med spa owners all day long, we incubate that information, talk about it internally, and then we portray that out to you and come up with these specific episodes that really help position you guys to win and achieve ultimate success. So what I want to get into today is talking about how to not confuse efforts with results. Don’t confuse efforts with results. There are some people in this world that are extremely talented, they’re extremely disciplined, they’re proficient. They know exactly what they’re supposed to be doing, and they don’t have to be told, right? And so when we talk about putting yourself in a position to win with results, these are people that just know how to get things done. And these can be team members, right? So when you’re out there looking for team members and building culture, try to find the individuals that produce results. Always look at the end result. How was the outcome, right? I think a lot of times we get caught up in the sense of, how many hours did you work? How long did it take you? What are you working on? What are you doing? How are you being productive? Right? You want to make sure that you you build a team in such a way to where you can literally just have a team meeting, have a huddle, have a stand up, walk past the front desk, assign something to your office, at at administrator, assign something to your personal assistant, your marketing person, whatever it is, and just know that it’s gonna get done, right? Because you’re very busy. You’re an entrepreneur. You’re wearing multiple hats inside the business, outside the business, you’re probably, you know, married or have a partner. Maybe you have kids, maybe you have extracurricular activities that you’re a part of, helping in the local community, hobbies, interests, whatever it is, you’re constantly wearing multiple hats, so you need to build team culture where you can structure your position to focus on the results, and same with you as well, right? So when you sit down and map out a process and map out a plan, you need to understand what the end result is and put that process in place and make action items that will achieve that specific result, right? So a lot of people say a goal is just to dream without action. This is the same philosophy, right? So if you give effort, well, I tried, I tried to do it, but, you know, I failed, I gave up. That’s really somebody just not having the ability to execute, not understanding what the objective is, not understanding what the result is. Maybe it’s lack of training, maybe it’s lack of their self confidence, maybe it’s lack of their their self discipline, whatever it is you really need to drill in and understand what that is, so you can build that around your practice, right? And I’ve said in my previous episodes, you know, be
quick to fire and slow to hire, right? It’s almost like, you know, how, if you’ve ever had a mortgage on a home, or if you’ve ever if you have, like, a rental property and you have a tenant in there, um.
Um, this is a good example. Is when you’re going to apply for that mortgage, like the mortgage officer or whatever, they’re like, Yeah, you’re approved. Everything looks great. Credit’s fine, yeah, we can get this deal done. No problem. Like, it all sounds nice and warm and fluffy. And then the underwriter comes in, right? And they qualify you and qualify you and qualify you and qualify and they send conditions and conditions and conditions. And it’s gotten worse over the years, right? Same thing if you’re going to put a tenant in one of your properties, for example, and I’m just using this as a use case, right? You you want to qualify them, you want to almost underwrite them, right? And ask them their credentials, ask them their background, ask for referrals, ask for references, ask for what they’ve been able to do, because the last thing you want to do is put somebody in a position where they look great on paper, that’s all good, but then they but they can’t execute, right? Like there’s a lot of people that have great degrees. They went to school for a long time, master’s degrees, Doctor degrees, can they execute, though, right? So, so it’s important to really focus on that end result, right? And so for me, I’m very much self disciplined. Nobody has to tell me what time they get up, what time they go to bed, how to get things done. Yeah, and I know that’s how you are as well, or else you wouldn’t be listening to this type of content, right? That that is what you are. But a lot of times we feel like we can take everything on ourselves. We’re like, Hey, I’m Superwoman. I’m Superman. Whatever it is, I can do this myself, because I trust me to get it done, right? And what you’ll end up doing is you’ll end up either like burnout, sad, depressed, unorganized,
unproductive, because you’re doing every single thing everybody’s job, and then really just kind of creates like chaos, right? So, so really focus on, on again, and I’ll say this several times throughout this specific episode, is really that result, and how to obtain that result and how to put action in to get that specific result.

Think of one of the things right now that you are trying to get accomplished,
is it being executed on? Do you have to continue to ask and ask and ask, or do you know that you have the right team around you that you can just delegate something and trust that it’s going to get done,
and if it’s not getting done, and you find yourself frustrated, maybe it’s time to make a change. Maybe it’s time to take accountability and say, You know what, I’ve been giving them the benefit of the doubt, or myself the benefit of the doubt for too long. Now it’s time to step up and take action, right? And a lot of times, I think we get stuck in a position to where we’re like, oh my gosh, if, if I change something, I’m going to be put in a position where, where I don’t know how to take the next action item if this person’s no longer here, right? So, so really, like, pull yourself out of the business for a little bit. Look at it from a bird’s eye view, an outsider’s perspective, instead of doing the day to day jobs and really focus on the core objective of improving that result. Now let me what happens if you focus on the effort, right? If you focus on the effort and not the result, you’ll find yourself hiring people. They’ll be there all the time. They want the hours, right? They want the salary, they’ll show up, and they’re just kind of there. They’re just, they’re just bodies, and they’re trying, right? They’re trying. They’re like, I’m trying, you know, it’s coming, or I’m waiting on so and so. Or it’s a delay because of this vendor. Or, you know, they kind of play that blame game, what’s the delay? Where are we at? Right? So if you’re finding yourself like, continuously doing that, and you see that they’re trying, they’re putting in the effort, but the efforts not getting the result. It’s time to make a change, right? And so I think it’s really important that if you want to scale your practice or even improve your own
life.
Matter, for example, right? Or or understand it’s okay to maybe hire somebody, to hire caliber, to really increase your overall life efficiency and business effectiveness, it’s important to really recalibrate and look at things and pivot make change. Change is good, right? New Culture is good. New voices are good, new experiences are good, right? So sometimes you got to take a risk in order to see that reward, right? If you keep just kind of clawing at the bit and holding on and holding on and hanging and hanging on and hanging on, you know, you’re really just going to find yourself where you are this you know, week versus next week, versus this month versus next month. So if you want to make a change, absolutely focus on the result. And if you see people are just kind of making the effort right, and they’re not getting themselves
in that position to show results and actually give reporting data and true measurable resorts and productivity, and what’s actually overall, improving the practice and improving the efficiencies and productivities. It’s time to cut the cord, right? Be honest with yourself, right? I’m just being honest. Every entrepreneur has been guilty of it. I’ve been guilty of it. Everybody in the mastermind groups that I associate with is guilty of it because you built a relationship with somebody. You built a relationship with yourself. There’s something stuck in our mind, right? So, and we keep telling ourself things will get better, things will get better, things will get better, right? But really they’re not. So I would encourage you to in your next team huddle, or next company meeting, or stand up, or whatever it is, to really look at some things that have been put on the back burner, and they were ideas that came to you, and you know, they’re great ideas, because you’re that entrepreneur and you’re that business owner, and for some reason they haven’t been executed. And why haven’t they been executed? Right? Right? And what are the excuses behind that?
Right? I don’t have enough time. Oh, I forgot. Oh, I delegated. Oh, I haven’t heard back from, well, I sent an email to, well, I texted so and so, I called so and so, right? This is all noise,
right? And then what happens? Nine times out of 10, you step in to get the job done, right? Because, again, you’re Superman, you’re Superwoman, you step in, you execute, you get the job done. But what does that do? It pulls you out of what you’re supposed to be focused on,
right? It pulls you out you’ll get the job done because you know how to execute,
right? You know how to get the result that you’re looking for, but it’s pulling you back without you even knowing it,
right? So the practice owners that I see that perform at a high caliber and
live a really nice quality of life, they have a good team that supports something and a good team that they can rely on, and a good team that they trust and they have accountability on, and they focus on those results instead of the actual effort that it takes. Because everything takes effort, right? Your business owner, they work for you.
We all have to be accountable,
and if you drill into that result, that’s what’s going to put you in the position to have ultimate success and move the needle. So thanks so much for listening to medical millionaire again.
