hey everybody. Cameron Hemphill, here your host for medical millionaire. Hey, first off, thanks for taking the time to tune in. Our goal is to give incredible value and insight into the medical spa market. So if you’re an injector, you own a med spa, you’re in the esthetic space, whether it’s surgical, non surgical, dermatology, this podcast is for you. Everything about the content that we create is for you. And here at growth 99 we consult med spa owners all over the country, and we see ones that are absolutely thriving, and we also see ones that need tremendous help. And so throughout this journey together, it’s our goal to help you move the needle and empower you to position you for success in all aspects of your life. So today, what I want to talk it talk about is really stop wasting your weekends getting wasted. And this is something that really hit home to me early on in my career. As I look around and I see a lot of individuals that are high income producers, that are doing well, they’re productive during the week, and then as soon as, you know, Thursday night hits Friday hits Friday afternoon hits Friday night hits, it’s all about fun and games, and it’s all about, you know, partying and and I find it to be a setback in a major way, because If you are just looking forward, forward to the Friday like you’re grinding through the week and you’re a professional and then that Friday comes along and you’re really just, I can’t wait for the weekend. I can’t wait for the weekend. And you waste your entire weekend partying or getting wasted or or participating in curricular activities that don’t make sense and are not going to put you in a position to help you achieve the success that you are really seeking for. It almost is like you want it. You want it very, very bad, but every week and it kind of pulls you back, and really it’s a conversation that you need to have with yourself that will really help you understand on where you want to be and you need to be accountable to it, right so you need to look yourself in the mirror and say, Hey, am I making the right decisions during the downtime? Am I really moving the needle and staying on track during the weekend, or am I kind of like slacking off Thursday night? Fridays kind of like a chill day, Friday afternoon, everybody kind of blows out of the office, and then Saturday is just kind of like, you know, whatever. Sunday is kind of like whatever, like, have a plan, right? It’s not all about weekly planning, goals, focused, accountability, discipline. From Monday through Friday, have a plan on your weekend. Why can’t you have time management on the weekend? Why can’t you actually have your alarm set on Saturday morning and Sunday morning? The I think that we’ve just been thought to like, you know, the weekends are for rest and they are. There’s no, there’s no, no problem with with resting, right? Having a rest day. But why not have a plan?
Why not wake early? Wake up early? Why not, you know, have an alarm set right? And so
in some of the masterminds and business professionals and very successful entrepreneurs that I study and I study diligently. They are actually making strategic moves throughout the weekend, and they’re focusing on the areas that are most important to them. And those areas can be the business. It can be fitness mindset. They can be reading a book. They can learn a new skill. They can be spending very quality time with friends and family instead of feeling like shit, right? So these are some things that that I see constantly, and the ones that separate themselves from the pack. They make moves on the weekend because they can’t wait to get back to work on Monday, and put themselves in a position to have a more successful practice, a more successful business and a higher quality of life, right? And so if you find yourself, you know, rolling in Monday or Tuesday or whatever it is, right, like, and I know, you know, a lot of you may work Saturdays, but and you have Mondays off, right? So.
Go, you got to think, like, what are you doing during your off days, during your downtime?
Are you mapping out a plan, or are you are you regressing?
Are you putting yourself in a position to map out a goal, or are
you putting yourself in a position to be like, Okay, this is a great time now where I’m not taking on patients. I’m not injecting. I don’t have anybody in my chair, nobody in my office, nobody in my ear. Maybe this is a really good time that I can actually work on my business, versus in my business, and get something done that has just been sitting on my to do list for months. And it’s like, Oh, when I get around to it, when I get around to it, when I get around to it. But you, you, of all people, know that you could have got it done. You just didn’t put in the time and the effort to get it done, and you didn’t allocate time. And the best time could have been is on that weekend. And then I’m not here to say, like, you know, you should be working non stop, right? There’s always a time and a place, but I can give you a little bit of insight on what’s actually helped me and what’s what’s helped a lot of successful practice owners around the country that I’ve worked with and have really cool conversations with is see my alarm goes off Saturday morning. And I know a lot of successful business owners where their alarm goes off Saturday morning as well. Okay, and that alarm goes off very early,
right? For me, it’s 5am usually Monday through Friday, it’s 4am for me on Saturdays, I give myself one over one extra hour and it’s 5am now, what’s happening at 5am in the morning on a Saturday? Not much. It’s quiet. It’s calm. Emails are not flooding in, text messages, appointments. It’s pretty dang quiet. Your family, your family is probably still sleeping. If you have kids married, they’re probably still sleeping. It’s a perfect time to knock out 123, hours of work before anybody wakes up, before the world wakes up. Imagine knocking out three hours of hardcore discipline, strategic work that then you could take Monday and implement. Imagine if you did that, how you would be, and if you did that every Saturday, or if you basically like, Oh man, that’s something I need to work on. It’s something I need to work on. It something I need to work on. And you made like, a Saturday morning to do list, or a Sunday morning to do list, or a Monday morning to do list, right? Whenever you have your off days, basically, and I’m using weekends as an example, because those are typical off days, right? If you wake up Saturday morning and you’re hungover, or maybe you like, you know, had a food binge, or whatever the case is, and you just kind of feel like crap, like, oh, you know, I think that there’s gonna be somebody that is out there that’s maybe a little bit more hungry than you are, or maybe you’ve gotten to a position where you’re feeling comfortable. Can tell you right now, there’s somebody out there that is wanting. It’s so bad in this very competitive space that they’re going to do everything they can to try to take market share,
right? And so it’s something to really sit back on and reflect, like it’s interesting.
We go to a lot of medical shows in Las Vegas, and I know you guys do as well, right? American Med, spa Association, am spau. It’s usually every January,
and it’s in Las Vegas. And what is Vegas? It’s Sin City, right? Lots of drinks going around, lots of people partying. I think the nightclubs open at like, two in the morning or something like that. It’s crazy, like it’s just, I have a hard time comprehending it, but, and then people come home from the night, you know, it like seven in the morning, you’ll shoot there’s been times I’ve walked down to get my coffee, you know, five, six in the morning and get ready for a workout. And there’s people that are just absolutely hammered,
and I’m like, Oh my gosh. Like, we’re just in a completely different state of mind. I’m getting ready for my day, and they’re getting ready to go pass out and sleep all day and then wake up and go do it all again. Like, I mean, I’m skipping them, like, almost, like, I’ve almost, like, lapped them in a life cycle,
right? So, and it’s not just Vegas. I’m just kind of using that as an example, because, I mean, you basically see it all around, and it’s quite obvious, right? The other thing too, is, is, is a lot of people go down there, like attendees, and they’ll rip it, right? They go down there, it’s actually like, empowered, get education. Really come home with something, and all they come home with is a hangover, right? So
it’s, it’s really, use those use those use those weekends, use that downtime, use that as an educational process to really learn. Create notes and then create action on those notes, if you’re just going to a conference, to go to a conference, or if you’re just, you know, doing something to do, do something or go somewhere for fun. Like, but you really like, why are you there? Right? Why are.
You in business,
right? And I see people that you know all of a sudden get themselves in a comfort zone. They’ve had some success, they’re feeling good, they got some confidence going. They feel unstoppable, right? And if you get too comfortable
and you see your discipline falling, and you see yourself you know, not reviewing your goals,
not looking at gratitude, not focusing on the family members and the colleagues and the friends and your spouse that really means something to you.
You will fall behind
and the very successful business owners, practice owners, people that have great relationships, people that have great relationships with their family, they know what’s important, and they focus on those things.

also,
the weekend is a great time to think about other aspects of your life.
What is important? Are you thinking long term? How much time do you have left on this planet? What do you want to achieve?
Are you accomplishing your goals?
Are you putting yourself in a position to achieve the success that you desire? Because if you wake up and you’re not feeling well, you’re truly you’re just, you know, regressing, right
and shoot, you know, I like a drink, just like anybody else, right? There’s nothing wrong with that. And there’s nothing wrong with celebrating and having fun. You know, it’s, it’s, you know, work hard, play hard. I hear that a lot too, right? So, so, I mean, there’s nothing wrong with it, you know, there’s always a time and a place to celebrate, have fun, but, but I think if you could really just understand how to do it in moderation, and know in the back your mind and heart and soul and spirit of what your goals are, and are you making the right choices, and are you doing the right things? And how bad do you really want it? And if you don’t want it, you know, bad enough, that’s, that’s fine. Well, you know it’s, it’s up to you on how much you want. But if you truly, truly want it,
and you find yourself regressing, ask yourself, why, like, why am I doing this? Why am I hanging out with the wrong people? Why am I hanging out with the wrong crowd? What is this crowd doing for me? Are they empowering me? Are they lifting me up? Are they inviting me to go work out or go on a run in the morning? Like, are they inviting me to eat, like, eat healthy? Are they inviting me to do things that are empowering, or are they inviting you to, like, hang out or like, chill right? I can’t stand those words. Those words drive me absolutely, oh gosh, I can’t stand them. You know, it’s like you want to hang out, what do you want to hang out and do? What are we going to do? Right? So,
so it’s something that I think is important. So a couple years back,
I really started focusing on looking at real estate deals on the weekends, because I’m like, okay, like, we have a business, as you guys know, you guys have a business, right? And you need to focus on top line revenue, bottom line revenue, profits, employees, growth, everything, right? Like, it’s it’s crazy. But where are you putting those, those hard earned profits? Are
you putting them in the right places? Are you putting in the wrong places? So I started, you know, shopping real estate deals on the weekends, taking my little two daughters to go see houses, taking my wife to go see houses. Let’s go look at investment properties. Let’s learn about this stuff. Let’s read some books about this stuff. Let’s figure it out. Right? I all the wealthy people that I follow shoot they all own real estate. They all own stocks. Cryptocurrency is now becoming quite popular, right? Like, where do these guys put their money, especially in an inflationary market that we are seeing right now? How can you acquire assets that will beat the hurdle rate of the inflationary status you.
Right? So these are things that you really need to think about, and if you and you can only do it really during your downtime, because there’s so much chaos going on, owning a practice and running a business and managing employees and managing appointments and inventory and the website and all this stuff, right? So the weekends can really, or the downtime. Can really put yourself in a spot
to lap people.
There’s a gentleman that I admire and follow diligently, and he’s got a great podcast, and he’s pretty well known. Most of you probably know him as Ed’s His name is Ed, my let he comes out with a new podcast every Tuesday, and now he’s in a spot where he’s interviewing very well known people, but this season right now, so we’re in November of 2021,
and he’s starting to now talk about it. He did this last year, the year before, the year before. He starts to talk about this is the time right now when the holidays come to lap your opponents to work on what’s most important, because everybody slows down. And he says, What’s always helped me? And he’s, I think he’s worth about 500 million. But what he says, this is where I speed up. This is where I actually speed up, because when those people are all slowing down and I speed up, I lap them, and I started thinking about, like, oh my gosh, he’s he’s so he’s so Right, right? We tend to relax during the holidays and again. Nothing wrong with that. Nothing wrong with taking down time. Nothing you know, you got to recharge, you got to reboost, right? But if you can also take out and block out some time, you would be amazed on how much you can get done in one hour, two hour, three hours worth of work during the so called downtime. Right? If you woke up on Saturday at five in the morning and you knocked out two three hours of work and your family gets up at eight Good morning, everybody, you weren’t even gone.
It’s the discipline factor. And when I talk to a lot of these successful multi millionaire business owners and practice owners, they’ve done very well. When I talk to them, a lot of it is not about motivation. Obviously, they’re motivated, right? But it’s about discipline. All of them say the way that I achieved success was discipline. I always did things that I didn’t want to do, constantly did things I never wanted to do. So it’s about putting yourself in a position for getting comfortable when you’re uncomfortable,
and understanding that most people that don’t do things when they’re uncomfortable, they stay stagnant. And if you want to grow, put yourself in a position
to make sure that you are uncomfortable,
and getting comfortable when you’re uncomfortable, it’ll help you grow,
right? And so if you’re like, oh, last thing I’ll do is wake up Saturday morning, early. Oh, last Sunday, Sunday morning. Shoot, heck no, I like to sleep in my bed’s so comfy, right? So
that’s all I have for you guys today.
It’s helped me throughout the years immensely and through all aspects of my life,
really helping me focus on spending quality time with my family working on my business, versus in my business, and same with other practice owners that I admire and follow, and business owners and leaders that that I follow and really have a tremendous amount of respect for. So if you don’t do it,
and if you don’t implement these strategies,
you will potentially be in that statistical range
of not here in the future. It’s a very competitive world, and we’re living in an interesting time right now where I feel like you have to step on the pedal even harder than ever before, and I would encourage you all to at least try this and report back. Share it. Share your experience. Let us know how it goes. Let us know what’s changing your life by implementing these strategies in the next 3060, 90 days. All
right, everybody again. Cameron Hemphill, here your host for medical millionaire. Thank you so much for tuning in. If you found this content valuable, please share it. Keep the conversation going. We love sharing the content. We want everybody to really learn and put themselves in a spot, to really find the next best version of them and dig deep. Inspire somebody. Thank you so much.
