hey everybody. Cam Hemphill, here your host for medical millionaire. Hey, first off, thank you so much for taking the time to tune into our podcast. Our goal is to give incredible value and insight into the medical spa market. So if you’re an injector, you own a medical esthetics practice, a DERM practice, plastic surgery clinic, or even dental cosmetics. At this point, this podcast is designed for you. What we do is we help practice owners across the world, helping them take their practice to the next level, and ultimately, how to run their practice like a business, right? And so throughout this journey together, we want to help you get to that next level that you’re looking for. So wherever you’re at within your journey, we want to help move that needle for you. So what I want to talk about is it’s interesting. We actually produce a podcast usually every Thursday. Today is Thursday, and I had a podcast that was outlined that I was going to get into today, right? And I thought it was kind of funny. Actually, I went on a run this morning. I’ve pivoted now that it’s gotten a little bit hotter in Utah, my runs are actually in the morning, so if you turn into our earlier episodes, you’ll get to know kind of what my routine is, which is kind of cool. So I try to bring a little bit of the life story into this as well create a little bit more personable. I was on the run this morning, and I was listening to some really good content, and I was like, wow, I had to stop. And I’m like, You know what I’m going to change? This is exactly what I want to talk about today. Because I’m always trying to figure out, like, what do I want to talk about? How can I give value? What is growth 99 doing? What is everybody doing in the industry? And when we’re talking to clients, like, what are we doing? What are they doing that they’ve seen success, and how can we incubate that and then push it back out, right? And so I’ve always found like when I’m running or walking is when I do my best thinking. And this was a cool just moment for me that I had today, and this is what I want to talk about. We suffer the pain of discipline, or we suffer the pain of regret, right? And so as I’m running, I’m like, you know, this is like, running is fun, but it’s also hard, like, it’s more it’s harder to get your shoes on and get going, versus, like, and then when you’re doing it, you’re doing it, right? But it’s that mental barrier of saying, Okay, I’m gonna go work out, I’m gonna go on a run, I’m gonna do this, right? And so it made me think a lot about accountability, and it made me think a lot about about discipline and and really suffering the pain of discipline, which exceeds exponentially the pain of regret, right? So when you’re at the end of your day, when you’re at the end of the week, you’re at the end of the month, or at the end of your life, what are you going to look back on? What have you achieved? What have you accomplished? Did you have discipline? Did you have accountability, right, or did you have regret? So whatever path you take, right, like discipline is extremely challenging. Success is challenging. Success is hard. Failure is hard, right? And that’s that’s your competitive advantage. If success was easy, everybody would be doing it right. But success is hard. It’s hard work, and that is your advantage, right? So when you start to explore like the pain of discipline, discipline, Carnegie said it best, right? He said basically, the one who has discipline will outwork and out achieve. Anybody that is more talented, is smarter and has the desire, but the one that has the discipline, day after day after day after day after day will achieve all of those mundane tasks that they don’t want to do. Will help move that needle, right? So enjoy the suffering. Learn that discipline is going to create pain, but that pain of discipline that you’re going to have is going to very much outweigh the regret. Do you want to live with regret and know that you could have done certain things, and you could have gotten those tasks done, and you could have got your practice to a certain level. And you could have acquired that piece of technology. You could have built that site. You could have hired that person. You could have sold this product. You could have hit your goals. You can do it all. Anybody can do it if they have discipline, right? That you know, waking up in an early in the morning, doing the hard things first, right? Ed, my. That says it all the time is the one that does the hard things first in the morning, makes the rest of your day so easy. That’s why, like a lot of folks that you see that work out early in the morning, that’s really hard to do. It’s hard to get up early. It’s hard to start moving your body early before anything else you do. But then everything else is quite easy. And they’re mentally prepared. They’re stronger. Their mind is ready. Their body’s ready. They’re active, they’re sharp, they’re ready to go. So at 8am when they’re ready to meet, or they’re like, have a meeting, or whatever it is, it’s a either it’s an employment engagement or a client customer facing, something like that, like they’re sharp, they’re ready to go, because you’re not thinking that that was the most important task of the day. That’s easy if you’re waking up late and you’re rushing to that early patient visit, and you know, you still got, like, the eye boogers, and you’re like, trying to, like, slam down the coffee and and you roll in there maybe, like, right on time, and you’re rushing and rushing, like, yeah, that’s stressful, right? You’re running behind. Like, this is chaotic, but you’re not sharp, you’re not ready, you haven’t accomplished the hardest part of the day, right? So I’d encourage every single person that’s tuning into this to really like, hey, like, if you’re not getting up early, like, I would strongly encourage you to do it, try it, and then have the discipline to continue to do it. Don’t do it once, right? You’re not going to get anywhere if you do something once. You know, you’re not going to go to the gym and work out one time and all of a sudden have, like, these amazing results in the six pack and the great mind and, you know, the energy and all that stuff. Like it doesn’t work that way. It’s repetitive. And when you look at that, like everything is repetitive in order to make the next level right? So let’s take it to let’s look at it from another perspective. So saving money, if you save money one day, great, but if you save money over time, every single day, every time you earn $1 maybe you put away a nickel, right at a larger scale, of course, let’s say you earn a million bucks, you know, you put away, you know, 100 grand, whatever it is, right? But, but basically, if you put yourself with the repetitive act of discipline and accountability, that is what achieves success. And every aspect you look at it, look at it from a diet perspective. You can’t just not eat ice cream one time, right? I mean, who doesn’t love ice cream, right? I totally get it easier said than done. Get that right, but at the same time, like, if you choose to cut out the junk over time, you’re gonna see the results if you choose to get on the phone and make your follow up calls day after day after day after day after day, you’re going to see the results. If you choose to go running every single day, you’re going to see the results. If you choose to save your money over time, you’re going to see the results.

Back to the show,
right and so it comes back to the discipline, and which is suffering, and it’s good suffering. Or you can look at it at the other side and live with regret, I could have, should have won a must have somebody did it. That’s it’s great. And then, and then that kind of creates that negativity, right? And that creates, like, just like internal like, almost like internal disease, right? Because you know you’re capable, but it comes down to that discipline, and the last thing you want to do is look at the end your life and have those regrets, right? So when you’re when you’re focusing on the day after day operation of the practice when you’re focusing on the day, you know, operation of how to run your family at the highest level, from a success standpoint, you know, from a spiritual, mental aspect, anything that you’re working off you’re in a coaching program like, be present, have the accountability, be disciplined, and continue to do it. You know, it’s funny, even inside of growth, I know. And sometimes we’ll get we’ll get customer get, we’ll get customers that say, Hey, I ran, you know, Facebook and Instagram ads for a month and I didn’t see very good results, you know, or Google ads for a month and and we didn’t see good results. Or people, historically, will talk to them, they’ll say, hey, like, I, I’ve ran Google ads with, you know, this, this marketing agency. Okay, we ran it for a month, and we just didn’t see results. And I’m a zero believer in Google Ads anymore. I’ve heard that quite a few times, actually. And so kind of looking at from a marketing standpoint is we’ll ask them questions, well, how much was your ad spend, right? Like, how much? How much did you invest? And a lot of times when I hear like they didn’t have success, it boils down to two factors. Well, three, actually, they didn’t invest enough, they didn’t give it enough time, and they didn’t have a systematic solution to follow up and measure their results. They actually don’t know why they didn’t have success. We’ll ask them these hard questions, why didn’t you have success? Right? But if you, if you basically lay out a success plan and say, hey, look number one, you didn’t invest enough, so you weren’t popping up anywhere, right? There’s other people that have competition in your area. They’re running ads too, so you’re competing, and they if their ad spend is at 10 grand and yours is at 200 like, of course, it didn’t work. Okay? You have to run them for a long period of time. Okay? Because the algorithm gets smarter. The Machine Learning kicks in, the algorithm, you know, starts to obtain itself, right? The AI kicks in, and then, if you don’t have a CRM to like, systematically follow up with leads, and you’re not calling them like, obviously there’s no success, right? So if you run it for a long time, you fund it correctly, and you have a solution in a system those practices that do it, they don’t shut off their ads. I promise you that the most successful practices that we have worked with run advertising, and especially during down markets, is when you step on the gas and you increase your marketing allocation and spend, because there’s a lot of people that start to retract and you can go snag that market share, right? It’s simple step on the gas. Like Grant Cardone says, says it. He’s, he’s starting to post a lot more right now. And I want you know you guys go, if you don’t follow him, he’s, I like him. I think he’s great. Real estate guy, business guy, like, he’s kind of salesy and stuff, whatever. But at the same time, he puts out some good content, and he talks a lot about stepping on the gas, taking market share when others are retracting. And I’ll come full circle. This has to do with discipline. You tried something. It didn’t work. We didn’t try it for long enough. Like think about running a radio ad or putting a billboard up. You run a radio ad, or is there? All right, look at this. Is there a radio ad or a TV commercial that is stuck in your head? Like, you know, there’s one that I can think of. I’m born and raised in Utah, the Shane company at the corner of State Street in the 7200 South like, I’ll remember that radio ad forever because they played it over and over and over and over and over again, right? But if you run a radio ad one time and like and see the results, people didn’t hear it. They may have heard it, but they have to hear it over and over and over again. Same with a billboard. If you put it up there for a day or two days no results. People have to see it. They have to have those driving patterns. They see it, and then they get curious. They go conduct searches, right? So it’s the marketing awareness. But again, coming back to this is discipline and living with the pain of regret if you don’t invest and invest in yourself, right? And then, and then, basically it’s you could look at anything in the sense of what is discipline and how to get yourself in a position to obtain the next best version of yourself, or wherever you’re at within your practice or your business or whatever, right? Or you can sit back and you can scroll through social media, and you can, like, compare yourself to other people winning. You know, which is which is not, that it’s not a good way to go about it. You know, take action and be accountable to yourself and have those disciplines, right? And so if you’re struggling to evenly, like find the discipline a good way to do it would be to do time blocking, right? I’ve talked about that before too. Do your time blocking Sunday night. Plan out your week. Monday morning, Tuesday morning, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday mornings. Plan out your day. Time Block. Block out your hour, you’re gonna get these things done, right? If, like, if you’re like, Hey, okay, it’s Sunday, I’m gonna start the gym tomorrow. Get it on your calendar. Be accountable to your calendar. Have discipline and accountability to that calendar, and own your day and time, right? Because the folks that don’t do it, they do live with regret. They live with regret, because they know in their heart of hearts, they actually had the ability, and everybody has the ability, but the discipline is the suffering, and it’s not fun. It’s not supposed to be fun,
but it’s much more fun than regret,
and success is hard, but mediocrity is much, much harder. I’ll stop it there, guys. I appreciate your time. Thank you so much for turning into medical millionaire again.
