Hey, everyone. Cameron Hemphill, here your host for Medical Millionaire. First off, thank you so much for taking the time to listen to our podcast.

Our goal and vision is to give value to the medical spa market. And my team and I, we’ve consulted some of the top medical spa owners, injectors, plastic surgeons and medical practices throughout the country for years, and we see ones that are absolutely killing it, and we see ones that you know could use a lot of help. And so throughout this journey together, whether you have a long term practice or you’ve been in business for a couple years, is to really give value and to help take your Med Spa and your medical practice to the next level.

Right throughout this journey together, we’re going to get into a lot of key takeaways that we hope help you for quick success and long term results. So in this particular episode, I want to get into how to rank your website without expensive ads. Okay?

And I think there’s a lot of misconception out there that you have to spend a lot of money on ads, right? And so, and there’s a lot of misconception on not spending money on ads, okay? And and I think some folks that have tried ad spend and not seen the results, they’re they’re a little reluctant to get back into it.

And I want to just kind of bring some awareness to the space around ranking your website without ads, and maybe even what the difference is, because a lot of times I’m finding myself have to educate folks on the difference, right? And so let’s just talk about that really quick. So running ads, right? You can run paid advertising on platforms such as Google, Facebook, Instagram, where our actual sponsored ads, right.

So, if you conduct a search and at the very top of the internet you you’ll see like, if you search right now, medical spa near me, or Botox near me, or face lift near me, or top plastic surgeon near me. Whatever you’re going to search at the very top, you’re going to see the links that say ad.

Okay, if you click on that, it’s going to charge whoever is is buying that space money. It’s called Pay Per Click advertising. Okay? And it can be extremely expensive. It’s becoming more and more expensive because it’s so competitive. And really, Google is going to say, Okay, well, we’re basically just going to throw a bid out there, and whoever’s going to spend more money is going to get top placement right. And so that’s kind of how they’re making their their money when it comes to paid search advertising.

Now they have, you know, other vehicles of revenue streams, but that is one huge impact of what we’re going to get into today. And so I, although I really like our clients that we consult, to have what I call as the three areas of real estate for web search. I love to see Pay Per Click advertising. I love to see a robust Google My Business page, and I’d love to see a very, very robust overall organic search result.

So those are the three key areas of success when it comes to overall web presence. But there’s a lot you can do without spending a fortune on ads. Okay? And you could take these, these takeaways, and go implement them yourself. You can have your your marketing person do them. You can have your director of in house marketing to them, or you can do them, or you can, you know, talk to growth 99 if you want to.

But there’s a lot of things that you can do, and a lot of it comes down to, first and foremost, the correct infrastructure. Okay, and so when you’re building out your website. We were a big fan of WordPress. Okay, there’s other web builders out there. I mean, you have Squarespace, you have Wix, for example. So some folks may have their own proprietary information and infrastructure platforms, but we’ve always been a huge fan of WordPress for longevity.

And the reason why is it exposes you to an SEO world that’s sustainable, okay? And then also, if you ever get in a position to where you need to hire a developer. I mean, you could literally throw a dart in your backyard and find a WordPress developer that. Understands the platform, and so I’m a big fan of that. I think that being on a WordPress environment doesn’t lock you down to a proprietary platform.

Like Squarespace is great, like you can get up and running quickly, and it’s rather affordable, but at the same time, you’re locked down to their platform, whereas WordPress is, it’s open right? It’s open source. And so, I mean, there is, I mean, probably a million plugins you can just plug into your website, and a lot of them are free, and a lot of them are just super cheap, and then you can integrate with basically every single tool as well. And so I think it’s important to make sure that you’re on the right infrastructure.

WordPress is open. It’s free. They don’t charge a monthly fee. Obviously, you have to have it hosted and stuff like that. And when it comes down to the hosting, that’s actually a pretty important topic as well, because that kind of goes along with the overall infrastructure, right? And so having it your website hosted on the right platform is extremely important. Some of you folks may may say, Okay, well, I host my my website on GoDaddy, which I hear time and time again.

Now, GoDaddy is a great company, and it works well, but time and time again I’m really seeing Amazon, AWS just win. And the reason why is because they I like to call it the Ferrari of servers. Like it’s extremely fast. You get embedded SSL, secure, Socket Layer Security, and it’s just reliable and sustainable. And so that’s what I would recommend, is first and foremost, beyond the right infrastructure, WordPress, compound those efforts with AWS, and then make sure everything is scalable and built for for a mobile environment, and then also for a, you know, a desktop or tablet environment as well.

Okay, so getting on the right infrastructure, it’s almost like building a house, okay? You want to build a beautiful house, and it’s, it’s fun to pick up, you know, the countertops and the fixtures and the appliances, but if you don’t have a correct foundation, then the house is just going to collapse. Okay? So that’s, that should be a pretty good analogy for you to kind of get positioned for long term success. Now let’s get into a couple things in terms of of overall SEO, and when I say SEO, it means Search Engine Optimization. Now maybe we should get into that for a sec.

What does Search Engine Optimization mean? It’s essentially how your website is ranking online from an organic perspective, organic versus paid search, organic is meaning that you have a rank result without running ads. Okay, and so that’s what search engine is. It’s it’s essentially how Google reads what your website is and gives credit based upon search criteria results from the consumer.

Okay, Google’s job is to give the consumer the best search results for what they’re trying to seek, like the easiest path of least resistance, if you will. That’s what Google is all about the consumer. And so you always have to think of your website that way, right? Maybe you love your website, but somebody else does it like a lot of times, folks get caught up in the design of things, but always think from the consumer perspective, because that’s where the gold mine is, okay.

And so having the overall infrastructure and the overall SEO strategy, it’s going to increase your overall web presence to exposure, to convert more and more clients time and time again. Okay, the other thing I want to talk about is this is a long term game when you’re talking about organic rankings versus paid rankings.

Like, if you have the right paid advertising with the right landing pages, what I call is the right hook, the right story, the right offer, when it comes to paid ads, like, that’s a different topic. I’m going to get into that on a on a podcast here in the future, on how to run an effective paid advertising. But again, there’s a price associated with it, and that those are quick wins, you know? And hey, I love paid ads, but you got to do them, right?

And those are quick wins, you know. And hey, I love paid ads, but you got to do them, right? Because it’s all been ROI, okay. The thing when it comes to overall organic SEO, if you’re not spending money on ads and you think that turning on SEO is going to yield you influx of leads overnight, this is, this is a false statement.

This is a long term game, okay. This is not, hey, I’m gonna have organic SEO, and they’re doing my SEO for me, my marketing person to an SEO or my agency, or whoever’s doing SEO. Are you running ads? No, we’re not running ads, but they’re doing SEO. This is, this is a long term game, okay? Now, if your website has been up and running, and you’ve been doing SEO for a long term and you and you pass that website to a new agency.

Now, they may have some some tips and tricks and embedded code that they can do to influx the traffic results, right? But essentially, this is a long term game, and I please, like avoid, you know, the get traffic quick schemes. They’re only going to hurt you in the long run, and so please try to avoid those, right? So again, long term, long term, long term, organic SEO can position your website to be found without running expensive Google and social media ads too.

I know I’ve talked a lot about Google, but also social like Facebook, Instagram, those have actually even become expensive as well. Although the conversions are higher, the lead quality is lower, and I have a podcast that will come out on that topic as well. But when I talk about long term, we talk about, like, the correct search engine optimization for long term. I want you to think of this as saving money or building wealth. Okay?

You have to keep at it to get better results. You have to understand how to play great offense. Okay, so when it comes down to, let’s call it saving money or wealth creation, you have to play great offense, right? And so what I mean by offense is that’s like, that’s revenue streams, that’s income. That is positioning your business to create as much revenue as you possibly can.

That’s that’s offense, right? When it comes down to, like a sports team, they’re, they’re playing offense in the NFL, they’re, they’re running the ball, they’re, they’re running the ball, they’re constantly attacking Okay, now there’s also the defensive play too. So defense in wealth creation is saving money, right? Looking at the bottom line, you have top line revenue, you got bottom line revenue.

So when you’re looking at the bottom line revenue, this is the defense like, where can you cut costs? Where can you save things? Where can you get better margins, right? So, where can I win in the margins that’s playing that’s playing defense. And so SEO, long term, organic, true SEO, is kind of the same way. You have to keep at it, you have to keep at it, you have to keep at it. It has to be consistent.

You have to have the right mindset. You have to have the right discipline, okay? And so some of the things that you could do that are free of charge. Obviously it takes your time, but time is money, and money is effort, right? So creating a podcast content creation is huge for SEO, right? And then pushing that podcast out there to Spotify to iTunes, and then backlinking that back to your website, creating a nice backlink, and having your your podcast on the bottom footer or top header of your website, amazing for SEO.

And there’s a lot that you can do by talking to get huge content in flux out there, right? So that’s one way you can do it. Another way is you can do YouTube videos every single day. You could do a YouTube video, right, and just constantly push out content. And this could be like key tips, takeaways of what you’re doing to educate your client, because if you become the statement of authority, like the industry leader or the industry of understanding, people are going to come to you, okay?

They’re going to come to you for your and seek your services, right? A blog post, write a month, write a daily blog post, right? And so with embedded keywords and h1 tags and meta tags and stuff like that, so content is is huge, the correct content again, a couple minutes ago, I talked about Google wanting to give the consumer what the search result is, and so you got.

To think of it that way, you got to put the content out there. Okay, now there’s other tools that you can use and stuff like that, but really, I want to talk about the things that you can do where you don’t have to hire some expensive developer or agency or tools or something like that. Now think of it this way, right? The other week, my disposal went out. And right now we’re in the mix of this COVID, and my disposal went out the house. And I said, Okay, well, I guess I got to call the plumber.

And I called the plumber, and I couldn’t believe how much they wanted to fix a disposal. I think, like the the just the rate, minus the product cost, was, like $650 I was like, This is crazy. So I went and I actually took a picture of the model number, went to YouTube, did a search. I found a video of some guy that showed exactly what to buy and how to install it. Okay? Now a lot of folks will say, Okay, well, great. Now I know how to do it.

Maybe I’ll go buy the part and get a discount on the part and hire someone to do it, to save some costs, whatever, whatever the thing is. But that guy that made the video, he became the statement of authority. He became the expert to me. Okay, now, I thought in my head for a second I could go hire this guy, because he knows how to do it. Okay. So that was, that’s the value of creating content. Is a me, the consumer seeking a service. He was there. Now his link was at the bottom. It was a local company, and I could have hired him right, because I knew what he was, what he was doing.

Now, I thought that it would have been kind of fun to just go to Home Depot and get the part and show my kids and teach my kids how to install the disposal. So we did that as a as an activity. So anyway, kind of going off on a tangent there, but again, that is the statement of authority, okay? And so I’m a big fan of of that. I mean, you can create a YouTube channel in two seconds, it’s it’s free, and start getting comfortable on video, right? Or podcast, start getting comfortable on on voice.

And then with blogs, start getting comfortable with writing. Now, you can obviously hire people to do this stuff, but it’s stuff that you can do yourself. And so if you’re constantly pushing content out there, you’re gonna start seeing some really, really good ranking results. Okay, all right. Now I have identified, before we wrap up here, I have identified some key tips on how to rank your website without ads that I want to talk about.

So fewer pages on your website can actually result in better SEO. So if you put content, be sure your content is high quality, with over 1900 words. So if you’re going to do a blog post, make sure it’s high quality, a really nice image, make sure the links to social media are there, the back links to building the third party sources that are vetted and verified.

Okay, that’s one way with with blog posts, delete old dinosaur pages. And there’s tools out there that you could run on this. So what I mean by dinosaur pages? So if you have old content, dead content, or pages with like no value. Just delete them. Okay, you can easily just go into your WordPress site delete them, and that way you’re not getting any of these, like 404, errors that actually yields is bad SEO, and so take the time to do what I call as an audit and delete any of those pages.

All right. Number three, the fix. Okay. Fix the tech issues, duplicate or missing title tags, duplicated description tags, broken links, images with missing alt text, pages blocked by robot. Dot txt, any 302. Directs that should be directed to, actually 301. Directs, I’m a big there’s a tool out there like I may, all of a sudden, just started speaking a different language to you, and I apologize for that, but let me just make it simple.

There’s, there’s a tool out there called Raven tool site. You can, it’s free go to Raven tool site, and you can conduct an audit, and it’ll see if you have any broken stuff on your site. Okay, number four on page. SEO will make or break your SEO rankings. Google ranks your keywords better if they are at the top of your content.

Okay, and so let’s talk about that for a sec. What does that mean when you’re creating the content, make sure your keywords are at the very top right. So in your case, medical spa, medical spa, medical spa injectors, Botox, right? So put that at the top blog post, put that at the top and then make sure the consumers don’t have to scroll down, okay?

And make sure the call to actions at the top number five, click through is huge. What is, what is click through? Click through, rate, CTR, is what. US nerds over here call it’s a huge ranking factor. Okay, optimize your overall CTR through the greatest results. Again, there’s tools out there for that too, but click through rates, huge factor for overall SEO, longer dwell time and lower bounce rates. You can find this data on your your Google Analytics very quickly, and you could just go create a just go create a free Google Analytics account, right?

Smaller images will push your content to the top of page, increasing your dwell rate. Okay? So when you have images, you have to have as an esthetically beautiful, pleasing website, right? It’s that’s what the consumers want to see. And make sure you’re credible, but make sure your images are reformatted to smaller sizes, okay? And that’s going to actually increase your speed, and it’s going to give you a longer what is called as dwell time, and it’s going to help with bounce rates.

So what is the bounce rate? Well, if somebody comes to your website and they bounce like they they come in and they leave right that that’s how your overall bounce result. Now, why did they leave? Well, a lot of times it’s because they it wasn’t the content they were seeking, or the website was slow and sluggish. And that could be results of having major like big imagery. Okay.

And so you could easily go to your website, conduct an audit, pull off your images, resize them, upload them back, increase the overall SEO exposure and speed ratings, to increase the dwell time and lower the bounce rate. And then last but not least is speed. Kind of talked about this a little bit, but it’s extremely important when it comes to SEO, so be on the best server possible. Please don’t go sign up for like, the cheap hosting or free hosting. It’s like three bucks a month or whatever it is.

Invest in technology. Okay, I’m a huge fan of saying, Okay, well, the purpose of my business is to help my clients sustain beauty for longevity. In return, I’m giving them an item of value, and I’m owed a, call it $1 for the service that you, that you sell, that they seek, right? And so there’s a spread in there. It’s called margin.

It’s called profit, right? And so I’m a big fan of investing in your business at every level, um versus, you know, like, I see this in real estate a lot. I see like, somebody goes and gets a real estate license, and all of a sudden they think that they need the new BMW or the new Mercedes, or the new purse or the new pair of shoes, because they have to have, you know, the look or whatever like it’s so it’s so misleading.

It’s so untrue. I see the most successful businesses that invest in their business, like in the tech and the web presence, in the conversions and Process automation, the ones that really invest in those core principles of their business are the ones that blow it out of the water. Okay, the nice cars and the fancy materials like those can come later. But the ones that invest in their business from a from a true tech perspective, or a true website SEO, Process Automation perspective, those are the ones that I see crushing it, and those are the ones that are gobbling up a tremendous amount of market share.
