Here’s your host, expert marketer and founder of growth 99 Cameron Hemphill,
Hey, everybody. Cameron Hemphill, here your host for medical millionaire. Hey, first off, thank you so much for taking the time to tune into our podcast. Our goal is to give incredible value and insight into the medical esthetic space. So if you’re an injector, you own a medical esthetics practice, dermatology practice, plastic surgery practice, or even dental cosmetics. This podcast, it’s 100% designed for you in all aspects of your life. So we want to help you take your practice in your life to the next level. So in this episode, I want to get into something that has a tremendous amount of meaning. And what that is is really starting your day with the most challenging task and how to overcome the rest of your day with ease, right? And so if you think about it, if you go back throughout whatever time it is you’re listening to this podcast. And if you can just take the time to go back your day from today, whether you’re listening this early in the morning or you’re listening to this in the evening, you’ve had some time to where you are actually tuning in to listening to this content, right? And so if I go back through just my day today, right? So right now it’s 1108, central time where I currently am. I’m actually now I’m living down in Florida, right? So I’ve actually moved my family down to Florida. We’re in the Sunshine State. We still have our house in Utah, but I’m talking to you guys right now for the first time, recording our this episode, Episode 61 from the Sunshine State, which, is incredible, but that space is challenging tasks, coming down here, moving my family, my kids, my wife, all that stuff, but going back to really starting your day with the most challenging things, because we don’t like to do challenging things as human beings. We like to do things that give comfort by default, right? Like we would rather it’s easier to watch TV versus read a book. It’s easier to not make that sales call versus make the sales call. It’s easier to not work out versus working out. It’s easier to eat the ice cream versus not eat the ice cream, right? So, like in every aspect, it’s easy to not pray. It’s easy to not you know, like, be the parent that you know you’re capable to be because you’re just so tired from work, right? Every day, faces these challenges, and if you can hit the ground running and accomplish your most difficult challenges first, then the rest of your day is only going to get easier and easier and easier, right? And so and also understand that you woke up today, right? Like you have a gift. Your heart’s beating. You woke up, you got out of bed, you’re you hit the ground running, right? Like that didn’t happen to a lot of people today, right? So I don’t know how many people actually, you know, you know, pass away per day. And I’m sure there’s some data out there that you could find on that, but you were one of the lucky ones. I got to wake up today, you know? And so I realized, as a practice owner, you are faced with tons of challenges, and you wear multiple hats. You want to practice. You’re thinking about opening a practice. Maybe you’re an executive at the practice. Maybe you just got hired as in a practice. Maybe you’re just getting into medical esthetics, or whatever it is. You’re still going through school, right? Maybe you’re a parent, you know, wife, husband, you know whatever kids you wear multiple roles, right? So as a business owner, people look up to you as well, and so you almost have to, like, run your entire day looking like as you’re the most confident person around, because everybody’s relying on you, right? So running a practice and running a business can be extremely lonely. It can be extremely challenging. You know, that’s why there’s, like, good networking groups and good masterminds and stuff like that. But if you can take the time to say, like, I know everybody on here that’s listening to this, there’s has been a task that’s on your task list that you just keep kicking down the road because you don’t want to do it. It’s easier to not do versus to get done, right? You just don’t want to do it. I’ll do it. I’ll do it tomorrow, I’ll do it tomorrow, I’ll do it tomorrow. And that doesn’t mean you haven’t you know you’re not productive, but there’s that one task. It’s just you’re like, oh, I don’t want to do it, right? So I’m going to challenge you, right? So whatever that task is, I want you to do it first thing in the morning tomorrow. Okay? Because. And then I want you to reflect after your end of the day tomorrow, and I want you to see how easy your day becomes, right? And I’ve actually, if you guys know who Ed mylett is, he has an amazing podcast, and a great guy, he talks about this. And I’ve, I’ve tried to, you know, learn from some of these elite performers, if you will, and embrace them and obviously, like, live them. And like, oh yeah, that’s something cool that I’d like to actually talk to our audience and our listeners about too, right? Because all this is is really trying to impact. We take the time to produce great content like this, to really just make an impact, right? And so I want to challenge you with that, whatever that task is, go get it done, right? Or, if it’s like, you know you’re supposed to get something done, you’ve been wanting to work out, but you’re just like, Oh, I’m gonna wait till Monday, right? I’m gonna wait till Monday. I’ll wait till Monday. No, if it’s Saturday, if it’s Sunday, it’s a great day to go work out. It’s a great day to get started. You don’t have to wait, right? And really, like a workout, doesn’t have to be that long. The hardest part is making that mental decision to actually realizing if you want to achieve, you don’t have an you don’t have a choice, you don’t like you have options. You can do it or not do it, but if you want to achieve, you really don’t have a choice. Okay, so I want to take you through a little bit, through my day today, and again, it’s not even noon yet, where I’m at right and I’ve already had several meetings, taken the kids to school, already had a meal, already made some outbound calls. I do like to make outbound calls it at what we do at growth 99 if you guys don’t know, you know growth 99 is growth 99 calm. You go check it out. But you know, I’ve had meetings with our team. I’ve actually have worked out right? I actually have done my goals, my affirmations, my visuals, my breathing techniques, you know? And I’m in a challenging spot right now because I’ve just moved down here, and I don’t have a gym. And if you guys have listened to my you know, historical episodes, you know, I’m big into fitness and working out and health and all that stuff, but, but I’m now faced with a new challenge, right? New challenges. I don’t, I don’t have a gym, and, man, I’m not sure I really want to join a gym, because I don’t know what gym is great. I don’t, I don’t know my surroundings, right? And so I’ve had to get creative, right? Like I brought my own bands down here. I got some running shoes. I know how to do some push ups shoot on my recent runs. Lately, I found this path where I can actually do a couple pull ups on this tree that I found, which has been just super cool, by the way, because I’ve been so used to like patterns, right? We get in a pattern, we get in a routine, we get in, like, comfort, right? And so, like, I’ve completely, I’ve made the decision to pull my entire family out of complete comfort, because I’m born and raised in Utah, and my family is, you know, my kids are in school in Utah, they’ve developed friends and all that stuff. I have made the decision to make us more uncomfortable be so we can grow. And it’s, it’s, it’s made a tremendous amount of challenge on my wife, my kids, my family, all that stuff, right? And also myself. And so, you know, what I’m trying to convey is, is, is really, it’s, life is about challenges, and it’s about how you handle them, with with really, like neutral thinking, understanding where you were, understanding where you are, and understanding where you’re going, and be able to control that, that mindset going forward, okay, so accomplish that challenge, okay? And get yourself in a great mindset, right? Because mindset is really everything. Your WHY you can burn out or thrive, and it’s that war game that’s going on in your mind, right? It’s that challenge of like, oh, I don’t want to get it done, oh, I don’t want to get it done, oh, I don’t want to get it done. You know, go get it done, and you will feel amazing about yourself. You’ll feel accomplished, and you will have that positivity and that aspiration to keep going right, because there’s a lot of things that can pull you down right, negative, thinking right, that can pull you away not thinking positive, not being optimistic. It’s very important to stay optimistic, very important to just understand your positivity, because you are the one that can decide. No one’s watching. It’s up to you, and if you want it bad enough, whether it’s improving your you know your health, your fitness, your business, your practice, your relationships, the relationships with your spouse, your kids, everything, if you’re not given that 100% you know it’s on you, and you’re the only one that can change that.

Every time you go to make a decision, if you can realize that you don’t have a choice, because you are one that’s not going to take comfort over discomfort, you will become elite. And studies show it very successful. Entrepreneurs and investors show it they do things every single day they don’t want to do every single day they don’t want to do, but it comes down to discipline and consistency of doing the hard things first that you don’t want to do, because it’s putting you in a position to actually have an advantage. Most of the world would rather live with comfort. Why wouldn’t you? Comfort is great, right? The donut tastes damn good, right? But it’s, it’s the folks that choose the no because they don’t have a choice, because they’re the ones that want to get to the next level, that get to that next level, that elite 1%
because they do things every single day they don’t want to do. You
know, you could cancel your appointments. You could not go into the practice for the day. You could skip your workout. You could have the cheat meal, whatever it is, but, but you know, if that gives you anxiety when you think of stuff like that, if you know then, then you’re on your path, right? If you’re fueled by that anxiety, you’re on your path to greatness, right? And then once you get to that point, it’s up to you to maintain that, because now you have the status of elite ism, if you will. So now you have to take your your individual mindset, to that next level, right? And so and as you become more successful, as you be, have more patients, have you have more employees, more kids, whatever it is you know you you accomplish the workout that you’ve been now, you’ve you’ve hit your peak, right? Like you got to go to the next level, right? And you’re constantly fighting some more, because now what’s going to happen is the old challenges, maybe they’ve gone away, maybe you, here’s an example. Maybe you didn’t work out, and now you are working out. And maybe it’s been six months and you’ve seen some results. That’s great, but if you stop, those results are all dissipated over time, right? So, and then if you keep maintaining that same level, you’re now at that level. So you have to thrive for more, for more. So the old challenge is now gone, but now you’re faced with just a new challenge. So life is about challenges, and it’s about how you handle those challenges, and it’s about getting the hardest challenges done first, so you can just learn to live with being uncomfortable and getting used to it, because it’s what’s going to make you comfortable to then get uncomfortable again. So you can keep learning, right? And so you know when, whenever it comes of whenever, you know, personally, like my time is over, or whatever that is, whoever that person is at that time, I I don’t know that person yet because, because I’m always striving to see okay, how much further can I learn? What? What can I learn about how further can we grow? You know, and I hope everybody gets some good understanding of this, because you’re never gonna be where you want, where you want to be, until you realize, like you are wanting to get to that next best version of yourself, and just keep thriving, and keep thriving, and keep thriving, right? And have that balance within your ecosystem. So you know, let’s say you don’t have any employees today, zero employees, and you’re just a one person show Well, eventually you’re going to have an employee, because you show up every day, and you’re learning, and you’re, you’re understanding how to run a practice like a business, and you’re moving the needle, and you’re moving and you’re studying, you’re going to conferences, and you’re investing everything, and you’re getting up early, and you’re, you know, you’re doing it all right? Everybody’s on their own journey. Eventually you will have the you will have an employee, and that’s going to face a new challenge, because now there’s a new personality, then you’re going to have two employees. That’s now that. Now it’s three personalities. You know, eventually maybe you have a staff of 2030, 4050, people with, like, 10 locations. I don’t know, whatever your goals are, there’s always going to be a next challenge, okay? And I would encourage you like not to get on. Instagram and social media and do the whole comparison thing, you know, because that can be, that can be like, somewhat, you know, just daunting and overwhelming and trying to compare where you are with, like, another individual that is, you know, has a lot more success, and it’s really because they, they’ve been on a journey for just a longer period of time, you know, they’ve been at it for a longer period of time, you know? So if you’re getting into this space and you’re trying to compare yourself with somebody that’s been in this space for 10 years, yeah, it’s a challenging, challenging comparison. I think social media is done a disservice for us in that area, right? Because you can get lost in in comparison, you know, even when you get to becoming, you know, wealthy, whatever, whatever that means for you, and from a financial standpoint, health, spiritual, whatever that, whatever that means for you, there’s, like, always somebody else that’s doing it better. There’s always somebody else that’s doing it better. You know, like for me, I do these breathing exercises every morning that I learned from Wim Hof, the guy’s actually really cool. If you go check out his YouTube, Wim Hof, quirky, funny guy, and he’s got these breathing exercises that are amazing. He’s way better at it than me. I mean, I just do, you know, I do a little bit of it, and I take a little bit of his juice every, every day. But, you know, that’s, that’s, I can’t compare myself with him. That’s like, that’s all he does every day, right? So that would, that’s a second, that’s a social media comparison that doesn’t really make sense. So I hope you guys got a lot out of this episode. And I really just wanted to focus on, you know, challenging you with starting your day with challenge, right? Starting your day with challenge. Okay, guys, I appreciate you.
