Hey, what’s up, everybody? Cameron Hemphill, here your host for medical millionaire. Hey, first off, thank you so much for taking the time to tune into our podcast. What I want to talk about is, is networking and why it’s so important. And so my team and I, we just came back from the am spa conference, the American Med Spa Association Conference. They put on an annual show. It’s in Las Vegas. It’s at the Wynn resort. It’s amazing. The win is one of my favorite hotels, casinos. It’s just a fantastic venue. And this was year six for us in a row. So we have been going to this conference for six years. This year, we were actually a Ruby sponsor, which was incredible to be a part of. And it’s interesting to look back and see what’s happened in this market, specifically, how big it’s grown and where it’s going. And so when we came the actual the conference used to be over at the ARIA, which is also a really nice hotel and casino, but it has a smaller venue, okay? And so the conference outgrew that a couple years ago. We moved to the win. And again, American Med Spa puts on the conference right and so we have seen it grow and scale. And last year, in 2022 the attendee account was right around 1300 give or take. This year, it exceeded 2000 so it actually doubled from an attendee perspective from the previous year. Now, what’s interesting is is the attendee count basically doubled. But if you look at what everybody’s saying in the media, doom and gloom is coming, right? So I wanted to bring back some really cool takeaways from the conference. First off, huge shout out to Alex and his team that put on the conference. They did an incredible job. Not an easy thing to do. There’s so much going on when organizing a conference, from exhibitors, attendees, sponsors, speakers, travel arrangements, in all of the marketing efforts that go into it. So want to give kudos there. So if any guys are tuning in from the am spa world, please share this. I want them to know how much I appreciate them and the growth magnet team and the folks that helped me put on the medical Millionaire podcast and so thank you so much, but it’s been cool to see grow like the exhibitors were amazing, the sponsors were amazing, and it was really cool to have the opportunity to meet with clients face to face, meet with competitors face to face, and have coffee with them, shake their hands, look them in the eye, hug your actual customers that have been with you for a long time, you know, laugh with them. And so it builds a completely different rapport. And so really, what I’m getting at is your net work is your net worth, right? And so whatever industry that you’re in, you really need to know who your network is, because you may not realize how connected you are and how close you are to the next level of success, it could literally be a handshake away that’s going to take your practice to the next level, whether that’s learning a new training, a new skill set, a new product line, a new vendor, a new piece of technology. Shoot somebody that owns a practice five states so. Over, they’ve come up with something interesting in their process or their brand or their marketing that has helped take their practice to the next level, right? And so all of these amazing people come together, and it’s neat, because we’re kind of locked under the same rooftop for a, you know, almost a week. Some of us are there for almost a week. Some of us are there for a few days. But it’s like everybody coming together to the dorm room. And every day we wake up and we go into the conference, and we see each other day after day after game. We have we have coffee, and we communicate, and then we go into different meetings on who’s speaking, on what topic, the takeaways are unbelievable. If you are not investing in networking, if you are not going to conferences to learn and advance your skill sets, see what’s going on in the market, you will be left behind the individuals that I see going to these conference, I can kind of count on them being there, because they’re the ones that go every year, right? And so it’s not that, hey, let’s go once, oh, I went there, been there, done that. All good. It changes. There is new exhibitors, there is new technology. There are people that are doing new techniques, and there is new courses, there’s new academies that are being launched. There are people that are getting on stage. And two years ago, they were doing a million dollars in revenue. A year later, they’re doing 3 million, and they’re well on their way to do 5 million. I’ve met practice owners that I’ve seen them literally go from high six figures to early seven figures to eight figures. I’ve seen it happen right in front of my eyes, just by knowing these people for so long, right? And so it’s it’s so cool that to have the opportunity to listen to them and to learn from them. So if you are looking to take your practice and the next level, if you can just take a step back, look at your practice. Where am I falling short? Why am I falling short? Is it marketing? Is it hiring? Is it firing? Is it Team members? Is it your location? Is it your technique? Is it your online booking experience? Is it your checkout process? Do you have enough Google reviews? Do you need more reviews? Like, are you posting on social media? Are you doing the things the right way? How frequently are you doing them? And then, obviously, like, how are you running your own personal life around with all this chaos, right? And so you can learn from the best in the industry, literally, by going to these conferences, and they are there to help you, like they have a spot in their heart to where they want to get up on stage, they want to walk through the exhibitor Hall. They want to connect with you, because they know what’s going on in your mind. They know like they’ve been there, right? So wherever you’re at within your specific environment of your practice, okay, maybe you are at a high six figure producing practice about to break a million like maybe you’re doing 50 to $60,000 a month in sales. Maybe you’re doing $100,000 a month or 200 whatever it is the people that are on stage or the industry leaders, they have been where you are, and they have been where you were, right so imagine when you first got in and you had zero sales. If you’re thinking about getting in right now, they were also there. Everybody has their own journey. So if you if there’s a practice out there that’s doing eight figures. I’m talking 10 million plus. It is happening as at this point in time, multiple practices, medical esthetics, is booming. It’s happening at one point in time their sales were zero. So know that you can’t get to where they were overnight, but you can get to where they are over time, okay? And the only way that you do that is through repetition, through practice, through extreme discipline, learning how to fail and getting up and keep going, okay? And part of one of my like famous quotes, like, success is not about motivation. It’s about discipline. Everything that you learn and everything that you fail from, you always learn, okay, there’s always a learning takeaway, and you’re always going to get better and

the am spa conference, they had amazing panelists, like some of the most talented people in this industry, were up there talking, okay, some of them may have flown on their own planes, and maybe they’re, you know, compensated to be there, I don’t know, but what I can tell you is they have a story, and they have a purpose of why they’re there, okay? And they’re there to help. And so if you are not taking action, and even if you are going to the conference and you’re not actively engaging with what’s happening, you’re wasting your time, right? You have the opportunity right in front of your eyes, to reach out, shake hands, ask a question. They may have coaching courses like, there’s there’s just, there’s so much opportunity. I also saw a lot of people in Las Vegas that were they had good intentions. They had good intentions to go to the conference, and, you know, they had everything mapped out. Okay, here’s what I’m gonna do on Friday morning. Here’s who I’m gonna go listen to. Here’s the talks. Here’s what I’ve got, you know, here’s the vendors I need to meet with, here’s my process. And then they get, you know, caught up in, unfortunately, Las Vegas, right? So Sin City, if you will. So I think it’s important, you know, if that happened to you, had good intentions, and maybe you didn’t get the most out of the conference, because Las Vegas got the best of you. Think about it, you know, I mean, again, like, it’s not that you you failed, it’s that, do better next time, you know, have a mission, maybe go by yourself, maybe surround yourself with different people, you know, and really like, come back to, why are you really here, right? If you have a family, if you are married, and you are away from your your family and your marriage, to fly across the country, to go to this event and spend 1000s of dollars to go there to better, enhance your life, make the best out of it, like get everything you can. Okay, let me give you a cool story. There was, there was one time we were exhibiting a few years ago, and we were trying to figure out, like we’re exhibitors, right? So, as you guys know, like we’re growth 99 I’m the CEO and founder. I don’t typically talk about it on the podcast, but, you know, every once in a while I kind of, I kind of tune in on that. I was we were we were there, and in there was a lot of people that were in this space for a long time. And at some point in time, you ask, like, do I belong here? Like, am I doing the right thing? Like, man, these people are so experienced. They know so much about their craft and trade, like you, almost and I you know you can second guess yourself right? You have to overcome that. You have to just like, put yourself in conference mode, right? And just become this, this person that you, that is inside your body, to just communicate with people, have conversation, put the phone down, shake hands like ask intelligent in depth questions, and then ask questions on top of those questions, write them down and look at them right. So if we never went to a conference as a company, we would have not expanded our knowledge in the space. We would not have met so many other amazing exhibitors, like crazy EMR, technology companies that are doing great things for process automation and health record syndication, great marketing companies, great companies that build good products, right? Building relationships with companies like Allergan, building relationships with gal Derma, even other folks at the Medical esthetic space, shaking hands with clients, getting introduced to new clients through clients, having dinner with clients like having those personal relationships that become impactful and meaningful and really hear like, Hey guys, how are we doing? Like, is there anywhere that we can improve as a company, or is there any anything that we can do for you that we currently aren’t doing? Have you seen anything in the marketplace that’s exciting that you can bring to my attention? You know what? What are the new trends? Is going on, you know? And so you have to take the time to invest in your craft. You can’t just continue to go doing your mundane day after day after day after day. I’m booked solid, and book saw it. I’m booked. I’m booked and booked back to back to back to back to back. You have to focus on the big picture. And I think a lot of times we lose sight of that, because we’re so busy, and you’re like, Well, how could I fit a conference into, like, my crazy schedule and my crazy day and my crazy week? Like, there’s just no way, you know, take the time to do it. I’m telling you, it will change your life. You will meet some incredible people, and you will scale your practice, and you will scale your mindset. I’ve seen people come to these conferences that were once in the audience, now they’re speaking on stage, and they’re creating like a coaching company to help people with whatever it is, like mindset coaching or finance or insurance or whatever it is, right? And they’re helping people. And so it’s, it’s, it’s just been incredible to watch. And I have seen, you know, other people come and then they, they, they don’t, they don’t come back. They, you know, they’ve been there, done that type of thing, and and I you can see what happens to to where they are. They get disconnected from the community of the esthetics world, and they’re not keeping up with the latest and greatest trends, and really, who’s making an impact. And so I would challenge you before we you know, dial this one out. I would challenge you to go to a conference this year. It’s very early on in the year still. And I would challenge you to go to a conference. Make it happen, you know, take your spouse with you, take your kids with you. Make it make it happen. It will change your life, and you will want to go to another one. And in fact, like every time we go, it’s so much work to go, especially as a sponsor and as an exhibitor, and, you know, flying your team out and getting your booth set up and all these things that we have to do as a exhibitor. It’s so much work. But every time we leave, we’re so grateful that we left, because we got to talk to so and so we got to meet so. And so we got it. We had the opportunity to go to dinner. We sat in on this class. We, you know, just got very much well connected within the community. And so I would challenge you guys with that. I’ll leave it at that.
