hey everybody. Cameron Hemphill, here your host for medical millionaire. Hey, first off, thank you so much for taking the time to tune into our podcast. Our goal is to give incredible value and insight into the medical spa market. So if you’re an injector, you own a medical esthetics practice, you’re thinking about getting into the medical esthetic space this podcast, it’s 100% designed for you. My team and I, we have consulted with some of the top injectors and medical esthetics practice owners around the country, for years, we see ones that are absolutely thriving, and we see ones that need serious help. So throughout this journey together, we want to help you take your practice to the next level. What I want to get into today, specifically is about social media and how important social media is when used appropriately. If you’ve turned into some of my previous episodes, you’ll hear me say, social media is a tool. It is not a toy. However, the majority of people are always wasting time on social media. I think the Apple iPhone actually sends out a report every single Sunday saying, Hey, here’s how much time you spent on your phone. I think it’s like screen time reporting data, and it will actually show you how much time you spend on your social media. So if you haven’t looked at that report, it might be a good idea to take the time to look at the report and see how much time you are wasting scrolling through social media and using social media as a toy versus a tool. Go ahead and look at that, and if you can see that your your week over week, analysis of the data shows how much time you’re spending on scrolling, you should actually look back at history and see how much time you have wasted over the course of a year. Now don’t get discouraged by it. We’re all guilty of scrolling on social media, sharing videos, commenting, tagging, double click, liking whatever we’re doing, right? So it’s nothing to be discouraged about. It’s just something to be aware about and say, hey, you know what? Wow, I am over here saying I don’t like social media, but then I’m always spending my time on social media. So it’s kind of interesting. Like, if you are a practice owner, or you are wanting to get into this business, or you want to take your practice to the next level, and you’re in a position where you’re like, you know what? Social media is just not for me. Instagram’s not for me. Facebook. I’m too old for Facebook. I’m too young for Instagram. I don’t like to do funny dances on Tiktok. I’m scared to do podcasts. I don’t want to show my face on YouTube channels. Like it’s not for me, it’s just not my thing. I’m telling you right now, you’re missing out on a massive opportunity because all of these tools, for one they’re free, right? You can obviously pay to run additional services and get impression, share and generate leads, and that’s, you know, a different conversation. But these tools are on your phone, and your phone is a super computer. It’s a smartphone that lives inside your pocket, on your desk or whatever. And these applications have the ability to connect with people from wherever you’re at, right? And that’s just the truth of like the world that we live in right now. Whether it’s a good thing or it’s a bad thing, right? There definitely is conversations to both of those of, hey, too much digital, you know, stuff that’s out there. We need to become more present. Totally get that. However, when it comes to marketing, when it comes to social media, when used appropriately, you need to continue to push out content. And there’s definitely going to be a day and time where you’re like, Ah, I just don’t feel like posting. I don’t know what to post. It doesn’t feel good. It doesn’t feel right. I may look funny, I may sound funny, I may not say the right thing, right? You need to just do it, and you need to just get out there and just overcome the fear or the objective or the reason, like why you are not doing it. You just need to do it, and you need to create a consistent process in it, because if you don’t do it, you will be the one that says, dang it. I wish I did do it okay. And an easy way to do it is just go find out who’s winning on social media in your space, who has created a tremendous amount of you know, followers. Is great engagement, pushes out good content, and follow just, just follow kind of what they’re doing, and take note of what they’re doing. And they may look extremely natural at it’s because they’ve been doing it for so long, and they’ve also probably taken, you know, training courses on it as well, but you can model what somebody else is done okay, and people want to do business with, people that they can see, people that they know, people that makes them feel good, and people that makes you know, helps them give value. So some things you can obviously post on social media, right? Like you can post things about education. You can post post things about inspiration. You can post things that are generic content and copy. You can create podcasts and push that stuff out there. You can create YouTube videos and push that stuff out there, right? You can also create things around testimonials that you receive, case studies that you receive, video testimonials. You could share reviews that you get on Google, on Yelp, on Facebook, you can share pictures of the practice. You can share pictures of your team, pictures of your clients, you know, you just everything should be about creating content, right? And maybe looking at this in the way of like, you know what? How can I create content today that I can push out through these channels so people can get to know who I am. Okay, the more people that know who you are, the more bookings you are going to have, the more people that know who you are, the more revenue you’re gonna create. The more people that know who you are, the chances of you failing reduces the more people that know who you are, the chances of you taking your practice to the next level is just it’s inevitable, right? You have people have to know who you are. Okay? You can’t just create a multi million dollar business, multi million dollar practice, sitting in the office, not talking to people. The more people you know, the more opportunity you’re going to have, the more business exposure you’re going to have, right? And that opportunity is going to come from people that are finding you, following you, have interest in you, curious in what you have to say, curious in what you have to offer. Understand that you are educated in this industry and in this field, understanding that you have humor, you are a human being. You know, there also is a home life outside of the practice. You also have hobbies outside of home life and the practice. Share that stuff because it creates a connection. And that connection is what creates a personality through social media, right? And it’s really quite cool in the sense of, hey, I can have friends clear across the country, even across the globe, that can see what I’m up to, and we don’t even have to talk, right? So there is some cool things about social media when used as a tool and use as a professional level. Okay, I know that there is a lot of practice owners out there that are extremely successful, and I hear them all the time, like, Dude, my Instagram creates so much revenue and traffic. For me, it’s crazy. Like I get tons of bookings. I’m now booking out my other injectors, my other estheticians, I’m now booking like different gigs for myself, like I just got invited to go to a speaking event, right because of the social media presence, right? And so like, those opportunities will happen. People want to come to you and give you better deals and discounts and offers on products and services. And it really just helps build up your overall credibility and your overall reputation, right? You of course, you want to increase follower count, you want to increase engagement count, it’s all important. But I think what it really boils down to is discipline, you know, like, I’ll see people get hot and heavy on social media for a little while, and then they’ll, like, taper off, you know? And so it’s something that you just have to have a core process in, right? And so, like, our company, you know, we’re always creating content. Everything we do, we create content around people want to know, like, you know, I have a company growth 99 you guys may know that. You may not, right? We create websites, SEO, CRM, lead management, Process automation, like a lot of cool stuff for this space, right? And so like, when, when that company is, is producing what it produces, it creates great content. What website was pushed out? What’s the update on our latest feature? Right? Like, what’s happening in the industry? Let’s highlight an employee, a testimonial, a case study, like, always producing content shoot this podcast, right? Like this episode, we’re taking the time to push this stuff out. You know, we interview people in the industry. We push that out on YouTube, right? We want, we want to. We want, like, that’s, that’s the point is, everything can be looked at as content creation. Creative you know, and some of them like more robust practices like, it gets to the point where they just hire like a person that’s in in office, in practice, all day capturing video copy. It’s basically like a video content creative director, and they’re just there to create copy. They’ll film treatments. They’ll film people doing injecting. They’ll film the checkout process. They’ll film The humor. Everything kind of creates a story. You can convert that to a reel. You can convert it to a post. I mean, it can get to the level that’s that’s crazy. Like, I have a client that we’ve we’ve worked with for a long time, and this gal has had so much success on social media. Like, she does such a good job. She’s so genuine, and she’s done just an incredible job on like, sharing things through the lens of social media. And I tell you what, everybody likes her, right? And everybody wants to work with her, and everybody wants to go see her. I mean, she has people that fly in all over the world to go see her, to get injections. Now, how could she have people fly in all over the world to get injections? If she wasn’t on social media, she can’t email everybody around the world. She can’t be everywhere at once around the world, right? So that’s what you guys need to look at. Is like, dude, this thing is a super computer. It gives me the ability to connect with people that I’m not able to connect with at scale, at rapid pace.

As you start to build up all of this content and all of this copy, and you continue to have the discipline to push it out. Push it out. Push it out. Like, first off, don’t get discouraged if you’re if you’re like, you know what? I’m gonna go on this I listen to this podcast, Cam is right? I gotta do a better job. I gotta get out there. Gotta do it. You know, don’t get like, discouraged over the Hey. I’m okay. I did my first my first thing, okay, I’m into it. I’m doing my education. I’m showing I’m connecting. I’m doing stories, I’m doing reels. I hired somebody to shoot the place, you know, after a week or two or three or four, and taper off, like, yeah, you know, I tried social media, it didn’t really work, you know, like, that’s not the attitude you want to have. This stuff takes time, and it takes accountability and discipline, day over day over day, and block out your time on your calendar, because most people are like, Dude, I don’t have time for social media. Dude, I don’t have time for that. I don’t like that. That’s not me. That’s not my style. That’s not what I want to do. Block out time put on your calendar and just go create content. Like, maybe it’s a half an hour a day, maybe it’s an hour a day, and go create content. Maybe it’s a post, maybe it’s a picture, whatever it is, turn it into a creative thing that can actually, you can share with the world and inspire somebody and have like and just get more people that know who you are. That’s, that’s really the bottom line is, the more people that know you, the more success you are going to have. Okay, you can’t have success with nobody knowing you. Right? Everybody knows Elon Musk, right? Everybody knows Jeff Bezos, right? Elon Musk, Tesla, he’s got like eight other companies, maybe 100 who knows Jeff Bezos? Same thing, right? People know who these names are. It’s because they have been able to produce a massive amount of like, articles, content, successful companies, written books, you know, like Elon Musk has, I think he has, like, the most followers on Twitter is because he posts about it, right? And he posts creative things, humor things, controversial things, right? And so it, but it’s if he just did one post on Twitter, you know, once a week, and then, like, you didn’t hear from him for like, 52 weeks, he’d probably lose some follower count, right? And it’s not. This is not all about, like, you need more followers. Like, go get followers. It’s just about you need people need to know who you are, okay? It’s like marketing 101, people need to know who you are, because you can’t sell products and services. You. If people don’t know who you are, they don’t know what they’re buying, how they’re buying it, who you are, you know. And so if you find yourself in a position to where, man, I’m not busy like, Man, I only got, like, I don’t get really many deals through social media, you know, you need to start getting out there and creating content. Okay? And a really cool thing that I’ve seen some practice owners do is they’ll actually get, let’s say they do a treatment or a service upon the checkout process. A lot of times they’ll, they’ll like, have social media consents that says, hey, we took pictures. Can we share? Can we tag you? Or hey, better yet, will you go on your Instagram story and just like, share your experience and tag us. This is a freaking awesome way to get follower growth. Like, good, local, organic follower growth, right? That’s gonna, like, go get 20 of those in the next year. Shit, go get 50 of them in the next year. That’s one a week, you know, especially for those busy practices out there, like, like, those, those older practices that have been around a long time, and now these new practices are coming up and starting to take market share, because they’re leveraging, you know, different ways, through social media. You guys have the ability to just go create a ton of content around treatments that you’re doing because you’re doing them all the time, and just get your patients to talk about their experience and tag you, because imagine by doing that, all of the people that follow them are then to start following you. And it just creates a tremendous amount of credibility, and it really builds up your reputation. Okay, so what I want to get into next is, is talking about reputation. Okay, when you’re in this business. Shoot, when you’re in any business, for that matter, the more people that know about you, the more haters you’re gonna get. This is a good thing, right? You want haters out there. Haters are awesome to all my haters out there. I love you guys. Thank you so much, right? Because it’s just, it’s part of the position you will be in when you get to a point to where so many people know about who you are, people will start to hate on you and let them hate on you. You just continue doing what you’re doing. You just continue focusing on you, pushing out content and just focusing on what matters to you, like if you get haters, this is a great this is a great thing. You should be proud, right? Because you have somebody out there that’s just focusing on their energy, on hating you, and they could be focusing on themselves. They’re focusing on you, right on dude. Thank you so much. You know, so and when you start to get, you know, like bad reviews, you know, if you get a bad review on Google or somebody post something about you on these Facebook groups or post something about you, you know, on Facebook or or wherever, or at a conference, whatever it is, right? Like, it’s all good. Just go get just, just, just, just get out there. And you know it’s best solve the problem as quick as you possibly can, right? But know that this stuff is going to happen, right? So let’s say, take the example. You get a bad rating on Google. It’s going to happen if you’ve been in business long enough, you’ve seen enough patients, you are going to get a one star review. Hate to break it to you, but it’s going to happen because you can’t make everybody happy. And there’s going to be the one grouch that comes in that’s already pissed off with her life or his life or whatever. And they just are the people that take the time to go and give bad ratings. You know, you know who they are out there, right? The Karen’s out there, right? Kidding, but you get what I’m saying. So, and a lot of people that have great experience, they don’t take the time to talk about how great of an experience they had, right? Because they’re busy. They’re focusing on them. They come in and get the service and treatment they love. You got to go buy, right? You always get the people that have, like, more time on their hands when they focus on the negative energy about the one star. So take the one star. You know, in my advice is, if you do get that, you know, reply to it with action quickly. You know, call them up on the phone. Don’t delegate it. Call them up on the phone. Talk to them. Hey, man, I saw you had a bad experience. How can I help you? Right? Because a lot of times you can put these bad, negative experiences into positives. You can actually turn me into rave raving fans. Because sometimes maybe they just had a bad day. Maybe they didn’t like the front office person, maybe they didn’t like the way their their treatment took place. Whatever it is you don’t know, but call them up. Hey, man, notice that you didn’t have a great, you know, great experience. Just want to let you know I’m here. I’m the practice owner. And how can we help you? How can we how can we solve, you know, this issue and help you out? You know, we’re in business to serve and help people. We apologize that you know you may not receive the best service. How can we help you? How can we turn this into a win? And you’ll be blown away by the response you get. They won’t expect the phone call, right? They’ll be like, Oh my gosh, you guys are freaking awesome. You’re on it. You called me. Hi. This is great. Nope. They’ll probably want to come back. You know, offer them an incentive. You. Like, don’t get in a position to be like, hey, please, please. Can you remove that? You know, just take it and be like, Oh, you can leave it up there. All good. No worries. Leave it up there, right? But then just go focus on getting a ton of them, you know, because if you have, let’s say you’re really cranking 501,000 2000 reviews online. I’ve seen practices that actually have over 3000 if you’re cranking online, you know, and you’re doing a lot of velocity, like a lot of a lot of volume, right? When it comes to seeing a lot of patience in a day, you know, you’re just, you’re gonna get more reviews, and you’re and you’re gonna, you just want to make sure that you are constantly having a system and a process to create, you know, great reviews. So just for every one star, you know, go get freaking 20 positive five stars, and then respond to every single one of those as well. Go get great case studies you know. Go get great video testimonials. Go interview your customers. Go interview all of your patients, right? That’s how, and then go post all of that on social media. You know, it’s it’s just gonna show like, hey, there’s always gonna be someone out there that’s not happy with their service or treatment, whatever the case is. Like, again, the more people you see, the more people that know about you, the more people you’re going to offend, the more people you’re going to piss off. But that’s just a fractional if you look at the percentage data, you know you’re going to have like 98 99% of the people actually love you, care about you, you inspire them. You know you’re there to do good. But there’s always a 1% that’s just, you know you’re never going to please and and that’s just, that’s just who they are. And what’s even funnier is they’re taking the time to bring negative energy to themselves and to you. And so, you know, just, just look at that as a win. You can turn every single bad situation into a positive situation, right? And that’s the purpose is. Hey, you know, oh my gosh, like the anxiety hit me. I got a one star. Oh, so and so said something about me on social media or tag me, or whatever, whatever it is, like, you know, like, turn that into a positive, you know, don’t reply back with emotion. Take a big, deep breath and then be like, You know what? I’m gonna turn this into a win, baby. This is what I’m gonna do, right? And so it’s, it’s, it’s already is a win, because they’re thinking about you. You know, there’s a, there is an entrepreneur out there that that I follow and admire. His name is Grant Cardone. I don’t know if any of you guys know him, but he’s got some just, he’s got people that love him, and he’s got people that hate him. And he actually talks about, he actually, he actually talked. He goes, dude, I love all the people that there’s people out there that hate me, that I don’t even know who they are. I don’t even know why they hate me, you know. And the reason why is because a lot of people know who he is, and maybe he comes off, you know, cocky or arrogant or or whatever, when he’s pushing out content, you know. And that’s just the way it is, like not every single person loves the same show on Netflix, right? But there’s if there’s shows out there that the majority of the people love, then that show is going to have success. But you can’t, you know, that’s just the way of the nature of the beast is, and it goes for the same as the practice owners. Okay? So if you ever get yourself in a situation where you know you’re you’re in a position where you have a one story view, or somebody’s talking about on social media. Turn it into a positive, like, embrace it, love it, challenge yourself. Turn it into a positive. Nine times out of 10, you can turn it, turn them into a raving fan, you know, surprise them, right? And then continue to push good content out there. You have to be on all the apps, you know, Tiktok, if you don’t love to dance, you know, you think it’s funny, quirky, weird, whatever. I’m telling you, there’s a lot of practices out there that are having a ton of success through Tiktok, and it’s a whole other audience that you should tap into. Instagram is dominating the space when it comes to medical, esthetics, marketing, Facebook as well. You can run Facebook ads that push down to Instagram ads integrated onto, you know, Tiktok. You can push stuff out there through YouTube. YouTube is owned by Google, so by doing all this, it also helps with your search engine optimization and your digital marketing and your reputation, your credibility, right? And so for those out there that really say I don’t understand social media, and it’s not for me, you will be left behind if you do not embrace it into your practice and take it seriously. Don’t take it in the sense of, hey, I’m you know, don’t let social media use you. You should use social media, right? The majority of the people in the world, they let social media use them, okay? And you need to be that one percenter that knows how to use social media to reach your audience at scale, on demand for. Com, right within the practice. All right, guys, hope you enjoyed the podcast. The episode today, again. My name is Cameron Hemphill. If you found this content valuable, please share it. Keep the conversation going until next time. Happy injecting you.
